How do you cite a picture?

Answer

How, where, and when you cite an image depends on whether you're citing in a Power Point, a web project, a paper, etc. In general, include:

Name of the artist, title of the artwork, date of creation, name of the holding institution & location. Italicize the work's title.

It is very important to attribute images according to your professor's guidelines. Here are more examples from JSTOR Images Search, an image database to which the library subscribes.
