Can I request a scan from a book?

Can I request a scan from a book? I need to access part of a print book. Rather than checking it out, is it possible to request a digital scan of a section of the book?

Answer

Fair use scanning from general and special collections will be available upon request from faculty and students. You can submit a request for book chapter scans from the general collection through ILLiad.

To request a scan of an image or document from the Library’s special collections (manuscripts, rare books, archives), please send a request through the Booth Family Center for Special Collections general email speccoll@georgetown.edu.

Special requests for items from the library's print collections to be mailed to faculty and students will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For assistance, contact accessservices@georgetown.edu.
