Q. I am an alumnus. How can I borrow books?

If there is a fee, is there a discount for alumni?

Answer

The library offers a number of services for alumni. Alumni may continue to borrow books until August 31 of the calendar year following graduation. (E.g., May 2020 and December 2020 graduates would have limited borrowing privileges until August 31, 2021.)

Recent graduates have the same borrowing rights as our Library Associates do. For books, this means that alumni can borrow up to 12 items for 6 weeks at a time. (See the full policy here.)

After the August 31 termination date post-graduation, alumni may still borrow books by becoming a Library Associate. Please note that Library Associates borrowing privileges do not extend to Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) resources.

Alumni and members of the public are welcome to visit and use the library and may take advantage of the library's electronic resources while doing so. Off-campus alumni also have access to select databases through the alumni portal.
