Q. COVID-19: I'm working on a senior thesis/capstone project this year, and I live several hours outside the D.C. metro area. How can I get books?

Answer

If you are a thesis/capstone student located several hours outside the District of Columbia area, you can request to have books mailed to you.

  • First, kindly fill out our books by mail address form, so we know you're a thesis student who may want or need to have books mailed to you.

  • Next, use HoyaSearch to find books - and make sure to sign in first.

  • Once you find what you're looking for in HoyaSearch, choose "Interlibrary Loan Request."  On the next page, log into ILLiad with your NetID and password, and place your request.

A few considerations:

  • General delivery time is 7 - 15 days, depending on availability and your geographic location.

  • You can request up to 15 books at a time to be mailed to you.  Once those 15 books are shipped to you, you can request more.

  • Library staff will pay to mail books to you, though when you're done with the books, you will have to pay to mail them back to Lauinger Library
