Q. Why do I have a request limit in HoyaSearch? When can I place more requests?

Answer

For the health & safety of our community, Georgetown is keeping a low density of people on campus. This has caused staffing shortages at Lauinger Library. To provide the best service possible, we have to limit the amount of requests we can process per patron at any given time. This applies to requests for Georgetown, Consortium, and Interlibrary Loan materials. Requests are considered 'active' when they are placed, being searched, and processed. Once items are on the hold shelf or cancelled they are considered 'inactive', and you will be able to place subsequent requests.
