How do I check out media equipment like cameras, video recorders, audio recorders, and other related equipment?

Answer

  1. You must have a valid Georgetown GoCard to borrow equipment or log in to our computers.
  2. Reserve equipment via our online reservation system, by phone (202-687-7607) or in person at the 3rd-floor Circulation Desk.
  3. Pickup and drop off equipment at the main Circulation Desk on the 3rd floor of Lauinger Library.
  4. Equipment check-outs are for up to 72 hours. Chromebooks and iPads are available for up to 1 week.
  5. If you need equipment for longer than 72 hours, please arrange extended loans by completing this form at least one-week in advance of the intended checkout time.
  6. Please be on time to pick up your gear, or call to let us know you will be late. Due to high demand, your reservation will be canceled if you are more than 30 minutes late.
  7. This is a shared, public device. You are responsible for clearing any data on the device before returning it and also for logging off of any personal accounts. The device will remain charged out to any patron who does not log out of their personal account when a device is returned.
  8. Each type of item may be checked out a maximum of 28 days per semester, or the equivalent of 9 72-hour checkouts.
  9. Students may check out a max of 2 cameras and 20 items in total at a time.
