A good way to keep track of your sources is to use a citation manager. These software programs let you build a collection of references, including to books and articles you've read and might want to cite.
Whenever you look up a book in the catalog you can export the citation to your reference manager, thus tracking your sources. Here's a screen shot of how to use the citation manager Zotero with HoyaSearch:
Find the item you want, and then click "Export RIS":
You'll be prompted by your citation manager to make sure you want to add the file.
