Thank you for considering donating your books to Georgetown! Generally, we prefer to accept items that are in line with the Library's existing collections and of lasting scholarly value. We also like for the books to be in good condition and free of obvious markings, damage, etc.
After your books are donated, we review them for suitability, and either add them to our collections or sell them in one of our periodic book sales. Book sale money helps fund additional purchases, so you're helping the Library either way.
Donations to the Library can, in some cases, be a tax deduction. While we're unable to provide appraisals or tax advice, we can supply a written acknowledgment of the donation upon request.
